Jeffrey Woodward, Managing Director

Jeffrey Woodward is the Managing Director of Syracuse Stage. For 17 years he served as the Managing Director for the McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, NJ. During his tenure, McCarter was honored with the Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre and produced over 40 world and American premieres including Nilo Cruz’s Anna in the Tropics, Athol Fugard’s Valley Song, Christopher Durang’s Miss Witherspoon, Regina Taylor’s Crowns, and Stephen Wadsworth’s adaptations of three plays by Pierre Marivaux. Woodward is a Trustee and Secretary of Theatre Communications Group, a former secretary for the League of Resident Theatres, a former Trustee and President of ArtPride New Jersey, and has served as a panel chair­man, panelist and on-site evaluator for the National Endowment for the Arts. He has worked for the Hartford Stage, the Mark Taper Forum, Northlight Theatre and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and served as a consultant to a number of organizations. He holds a BA from Pomona College and a MBA from New York University.
