Wherever famed detective Hercule Poirot goes, murder is never far behind! How many plays and musicals are set on trains, in train stations, or involve rail travel as a key plot point? The connections between theatre and rail run much deeper than the fictive events on stage. In this talk, Chris Woodworth explores our fascination with trains on stage as well as our reliance on trains as part of the theatrical touring ecosystem of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
