Can I get a refund?

Do you offer discounts for kids or college students?

  • Syracuse Stage and SU Drama typically offer discounts for kids (18 and below) and college students with ID. May not be available for all events. Subject to availability. 

Do you offer discounts for seniors?

  • We do not offer senior discounts. 

Do you offer any military discounts?

  • Syracuse Stage offers two (2) options for military. 

  • Free Tickets are available for select performances. Information available on our website. Limited number of seats available for this program. Limit 4 per party. Military ID must be presented at the performance.

  • Military Discounts are available for all performances. Call the Box Office to purchase tickets. Discount not available online. Limit 4 per party. Military ID must be presented at the performance.

What are the fees?

  • Tickets to Syracuse Stage productions have a $4 processing fee per ticket. 

  • Tickets to SU Drama productions have a $2 processing fee per ticket. 

  • Subscriptions for Syracuse Stage and SU Drama have a $4 processing fee per subscription. 

  • Subscribers pay the fee for their subscription then all fees are waived on all additional single ticket purchases. (To waive the fees, subscribers must call the box office to purchase the tickets. Online purchases will be subject to the fees.)

  • Missed Performance Passes and exchanges are subject to fees.

  • NEW FOR THE 24-25 SEASON: “All-In” Pricing - No more processing fees when placing your order. (Missed Performance and Exchange fees still apply)

What can I do if I bought the wrong tickets/wrong prices?

  • All sales are final, but contact the Box Office to see if anything can be done.
    It doesn't hurt to ask. 

Can I reserve or hold my tickets?

  • We do not reserve tickets. Tickets must be paid for in order to secure the seats.

How do I get my tickets? What do I do if I can't find my tickets?

  • Not all delivery methods are available for every order.

  • If you have any problems or have lost your tickets, contact the Box Office for an easy replacement. 

  • Email – A PDF attachment is emailed to the email address on the ticket order. The PDF can be printed and brought in, or they can be pulled up and scanned off of a smartphone. If you have trouble printing or opening on your phone, the Box Office can provide a physical ticket upon your arrival to the show. 

  • Will Call – Tickets are held at the Box Office for pickup. You can pick them up anytime the Box Office is open. Most people pick them up on their way into the performance. 

  • Ship – Allow 7-10 days for delivery via USPS.

Where are the good seats?

  • Archbold Theatre offers three (3) seating sections - A, B, and C. Section A is the best views. Section C has limited visability. No seat is more than 50 feet from the stage. The balcony overhangs to about Row J. The balcony has a safety railing in front of Row AA.

  • Storch Theatre has one (1) section. There are safety railings in front of Row B seats 1-5 and 23-27, and Row G seats 1-3 and 28-30.

Where is the Accessible Seating?

  • Archbold Theatre – The handicap accessible seating is in Row M, Seats 1-9 and 2-10. There are no steps to this area; all other rows require the patron to take steps. There are removable armchairs should a patron need to use a wheelchair. To keep this area available to others who may need it, we ask that patrons only book one companion seat in Row M and any additional party members be booked in seats close to Row M. Handrails are available throughout the theatre.

  • Storch Theatre – The handicap accessible seating is in Row A. There are no steps to this area; all other rows require the patron to take steps. Seats 1-4 and 21-24 are removable armchairs should a patron need to use a wheelchair. Seats 5-20 are regular theatre chairs but are on the same level as entry so they are easily accessible by a walker or such. Handrails are available throughout the theatre.

Should I bring my child? Does my child need a ticket?

  • Any person entering the theatre is required to have a ticket. Syracuse Stage and SU Drama does its best to describe the shows so that patrons can make an educated decision on whether or not a performance is age appropriate. With that being said, it is the responsibility of the patron to determine whether their child should attend a performance. Contact the Box Office if you need more information. 

What is a Subscription?

Syracuse Stage offers two (2) kinds of subscription packages. 

  • A 6Play Subscription includes each mainstage show in the season. At the time of purchase, subscribers book a series and seat that is consistent through the season. Unlimited exchanges are permitted within the same title.

  • A 3Play Subscription allows you to pick which three (3) shows you want to see. At the time or purchase, subscribers select their show titles, series and seating section. Exact seats are assigned after the 6Play Subscription renewals are complete. Exchanges are permitted within the same title. 

  • NOTE: Occasionally there will be “Off-Subscription” shows or events. Those will be identified as such and therefore not included in the subscription packages.

  • Syracuse Stage subscribers get additional benefits. Check online or contact the Box Office for current benefits.

SU Drama offers one (1) kind of subscription package for the 2023/2024 season. 

  • A 5Play Subscription includes each mainstage show in the season. At the time of purchase, subscribers book a series and seat that is consistent through the season. Unlimited exchanges are permitted within the same title. The Holiday Co-Production is not part of the SU Drama Subscription, but discounts are available for Drama subscribers.

What is a Gift Certificate?

Syracuse Stage Monetary Gift Certificates can be used toward the purchase of Syracuse Stage single tickets or subscriptions. Recipients must call the Box Office in order to redeem a Gift Certificate. Any difference in cost must be paid at the time of booking. Any remaining balance on the gift certificate will remain on file to be used for a later purchase. Monetary Gift Certificates do not expire. 

What is a Standing Room Ticket?

When a performance becomes sold-out the Box Office begins to sell Standing Room Tickets. Purchasing a Standing Room Ticket means that the patron will stand in the back of the balcony. Walkers, wheelchairs, or any seat-like device is not permitted in this area due to fire code. You must call the Box Office in order to purchase Standing Room Tickets.

What can I do if I can't make my performance?

  • Exchanges are permitted within the same production title. Fees and upcharges may apply. 

  • These options are not available if the show has already happened. See our missed performance policy.

  • If you know the new date you'd like to attend, call the box office before your scheduled performance and we will work with you to find new seats for the same title. Fees and upcharges may apply.

  • If you do not know the new date you'd like to attend, call the box office before your scheduled performance and we will turn your ticket into a "Will Let You Know" credit. When you know your new date, call back and we can use that credit to book your seat. Fees and upcharges may apply. Any "Will Let You Know" credits not used by the end of the show's run will be converted to a donation. 

  • If you can't make any of the performances of that title, you can pass your tickets to a friend or donate them to Syracuse Stage for a tax credit. Call the Box Office before your scheduled performance and we will issue a tax deductible donation for the value of the tickets. 

What do I do if I missed my performance?

  • If you miss your performance, come to any other performance of the same title and stop at the Box Office for a Missed Performance Pass. Fees may apply. Then take the pass to the ushers who will seat you just prior to the start of the show. NOTE: While we make every effort to seat you, this is not a guarantee. We encourage you to exchange tickets ahead of time so you have a guaranteed seat. No pre-booking or reservations needed. 

  • We cannot issue refunds. 

  • We cannot issue credit for another title. 

What if a show is canceled? What if the weather is bad?

  • Although we strive to continue all performances, we reserve the right to cancel a show for any reason. Should we decide to cancel a show for any reason, patrons will be notified as soon as possible and we will work with you to exchange to another performance for that title. If you are concerned about cancellation, please check our website for updates.

  • If we are carrying on with the show, please refer to the exchange and missed performance policies.

What is proper theatre etiquette?

  • Please be respectful of those involved in the production and your fellow patrons. House management reserves the right to address disturbances, re-seat patrons, and even remove patrons if necessary. We thank you for your cooperation. Please turn off all cell phones and other electronic devices.

What are the current COVID policies?

  • Syracuse Stage recommends that patrons wear masks in order to protect themselves, and others who have underlying health conditions or are immuno-compromised, from COVID-19. 

When should I arrive?

  • We suggest patrons arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the show to allow for parking, ticket pick up and time to be seated. The Box Office is open Mon-Fri 10am until show time, and on Sat-Sun it is open two (2) hours prior to shows. The lobby typically opens one (1) hour prior to curtain unless specified for a special event.

What if I’m late to the show or I have to step out?

  • Latecomers or patrons who step out during the performance will be seated at the discretion of house management. This may entail waiting for an appropriate time and/or taking a seat that is easily accessible so as not to disrupt the performers or other audience members. By arriving late you forfeit the right to your assigned seat.

Where can I park?

  • Patrons have three (3) options for parking.

  • Street Parking - free after 6pm and on Sundays.

  • Madison-Irving Garage - Pay upon exit. Card only. 

  • SU/Phoebes Lot - Pay up on entry. Card only.

What should I wear to the theatre?

  • There is no dress code for our theatre. Attire should be comfortable and appropriate for the occasion.

Is there a coat room?

  • We offer a free coat check located just inside the main doors.

Where are the restrooms?

  • Restrooms are located on the main level in both the Coyne and Storch Lobbies. Both are handicap accessible.

Can I take photos or video?

  • Video and audio recording of any kind are not permitted in the theatre. Photos of the set are permitted as long as no person (cast, staff, or patron) is in the image. 

Can I bring food or drink into the theatre?

  • Patrons are allowed to bring small snacks and beverage into the theatre however, we ask that you do so in a quiet and respectful manner. Drinks must be in a covered Syracuse Stage cup. Cups are available to purchase at the concession stands.

Is there food or a bar?

  • We offer a bar and small concession snacks. Please note that due to private events in our lobby, the selection may vary.

Are there listening devices available for the hearing impaired?

  • Listening devices are available at the coat check. No reservations needed.

How do I check Lost and Found?

  • Contact the Box Office. 

Can I smoke or use e-cigarettes?

  • Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is prohibited. We ask that you step outside and at least 50 feet from the entrances.

What is a Preview performance?

  • Preview refers to the performances before the official opening. 

What is an Audio Described performance?

  • Audio Description is for those who are visually impaired.Those who need it, will be given a headset in which a staff member will describe the actions taking place in the show. Descriptions start 30 minutes prior to show. This is not disruptive to other patrons. 

What is an Open Captioned performance?

  • Open Captioning is for patrons who are hard of hearing. A screen is placed in the theatre near the stage where the dialogue will display.

What is an ASL Interpreted performance?

  • American Sign Language interpreters will sign for these performances.

What is a Sensory Friendly performance?

  • Sensory Friendly performances are designed for those with neurodiversity. Lights and Sounds may be adjusted in the show. The house lights will be dimmed not off. Patrons are allowed to come and go as needed. Communication devices and noises are allowed. It is a hush free zone. 

What is a Prologue?

  • Prologue discussions consist of a panel made up of cast and/or production members. It is a moderated discussion on a topic from the show (without giving away any spoilers). These talks are one (1) hour prior to the show and are open to anyone with a ticket for that performance.

What is a Talk Back?

  • Talk Backs are a chance for the audience to engage with the cast in a Q&A session. This takes place immediately following the performance and is open to anyone with a ticket for that performance.

What is the Lecture on some Wednesday afternoons?

  • Wednesday lectures vary but the speaker(s) are booked around the theme or topics of the show. They are one (1) hour prior to the show and are open to anyone with a ticket for that performance.

What happens on Opening Night?

  • Opening Night marks the official show opening. The first performance of a production is not opening night, this is a Preview performance.

What is a Spanish Open Captioned performance?

  • Spanish Open Captioning allows for more inclusiveness. The show is still performed in English, but we place screens to the side of the stage where the dialogue is displayed in Spanish.

What is a Happy Hour performance?

  • Happy Hour is a preshow event in which we offer discounts at the bar and typically there are light snacks available (while supplies last). This event begins an hour (1) prior to the show and ends at show time. (Discounts do not apply to any pre-ordered drinks for intermission).

What is a Poetry & Play performance?

  • Poetry & Play is when we invite a poet to provide a reading of their work which is related to the topics/themes of the show. This event begins an hour and a half (1.5) hour prior to the show and is open to anyone with a ticket for that performance.
